Sports, Deep Tissue and Remedial Massage

This type of massage manipulates the muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. It helps to improve the efficiency of the musculoskeletal system, as well as reducing pain caused my by muscles tension. It speeds recovery, helps improve flexibility and posture, and can also help increase circulation. Massage is suitable for those who play sport, as well as non-sporting people who suffer from headaches, joint/muscle stiffness, and pain caused by injury or poor working conditions.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is used to ease pain by stimulating the nervous system to produce its own pain and stress fighters, such as endorphins. It also stimulates nerve fibres so that they carry other sensations to block out the existing painful ones. This helps to relax the muscles and increase the range of movement. Acupuncture can help to treat back, neck, shoulder and arm pain as well as pelvis, hip and leg pain. It is also effective against headaches and migraines.

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial Cupping is a modified version of the ancient Eastern style of cupping which targets the musculoskeletal system rather than the meridian systems. It uses plastic cups with a small, hand-operated vacuum pump thats draws in the soft tissues, providing a tensile force to the soft tissue system. This can then be left in one place or moved along the tissue. Myofascial Cupping increases blood supply to an injured area, helping to break down scar tissue, and reduce localised inflammation. All of this helps to increase the patient’s range of movement. It is effective for muscle sprains, strains, imbalances and tightness, as well as iliotibial band syndrome, plantar fasciitis, and general musculoskeletal pain and injuries.

Myofascial Cupping is effective for:

  • Muscle sprains and strains

  • Imbalances and tightness

  • Iliotibial band syndrome (knee injury common in cyclists, runners and weight-lifters)

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Musculoskeletal pain and injuries

Fascia Tooling

Fascia Tooling is an instrument-assisted, soft tissue mobilization therapy. It assists in breaking down fascial restrictions, and scar tissue adhesions. It can help conditions such as tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, lumbar sprains and strains, rotator cuff tendinosis, and Achilles tendinosis.
