Return to Movement will help you return your body back to its natural way of movement, through Sports and Remedial Massage and Pilates

Sports and Remedial Massage can help to treat a range of conditions, such as lower back pain, shoulder pain, headaches, sciatica, sporting injuries, and many more. It's also not just for 'sporting' people. This kind of massage can benefit those with desk-based roles, as well as those with more hands-on, labour intensive roles. The idea behind Sports and Remedial Massage is to return you to your normal activities and allow you to move more comfortably.

Pilates is a fantastic way to get your whole body moving again. These days we tend to be more sedentary in the way we live our lives, and our bodies don't like this very much. As a result, we can get stiff, and achy, generally feeling like we're not moving very well. Pilates helps you to connect with your body again, and realise its full potential. It can be used to rehabilitate injuries, create stability and mobilise and strengthen our bodies. It also serves to tone our muscles, to ensure they are in the best condition possible.

About me

It all started when…

I first became interested in movement when I was training for my First Degree Black Belt in Kickboxing. This new interest inspired me to change my career from an office-based one to becoming a BTEC Level 5 Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapist. In 2015 I qualified from The London School of Sport Massage. My new career has allowed me to gain a greater understanding of how the body moves and the compensations it makes when not moving properly.

In 2016, I worked full time for Southampton Football Club as a soft tissue therapist, for the First Team. Working in the Premier League gave me a unique insight into elite sports and elite athletes, learning first-hand how to deal with different injuries, and adapting treatments to suit. During my time at Southampton FC, I was introduced to the world of Pilates by Suzanne Scott. Pilates is used for rehabilitation of the players, along with general maintenance and functional movement, to make sure they stay ‘match-fit’.

After working closely with Suzanne, I was inspired to leave the world of Premier League football and further develop my knowledge and my career within movement.

After a year of training and assessment, I qualified as a YMCA Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor, training at Pilates in Motion under Anoushka Boone. Alongside this, I am also a qualified CoreAlign instructor.

My passion in life is to get people moving again, either through massage or Pilates. I hope to offer a hands-on solution to rehabilitation, injury prevention, and functional movement.

I love strength and conditioning training. I’ve climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, completed the National Three Peak Challenge, taken part in the London to Brighton bike ride, and competed in numerous running events. I’m always on the lookout for the next challenge that will test the ability of my mind and body.
